How to replace a bag?

To replace a bag, follow these steps:

  1. Replace your bag in a timely manner, maximum after 4 days.
  2. Shake the new bag sufficiently loose.
  3. Attach the bag under the handles to prevent it from falling into your bucket when it fills up.

Tips:

  • Replace your bag timely to prevent unpleasant odors.
  • Shake the new bag well before placing it.
  • Attach the bag under the handles to prevent spills.

Follow these simple tips and enjoy efficient use of your VentiMax, making waste disposal effortless and environmentally friendly.

That depends entirely on how intensely you use it. Typically, a modal family changes the bag 2-3 times a week. Because it has become full. If there hasn’t been an abundance of moisture in it and the ventilation around the VentiMax® is sufficient, it’s fine to hang around a bit longer.

The CompostBag® bags are OK compost HOME certified. They are therefore allowed in industrial composting, where they are fully absorbed into the biomass after 2 to 3 weeks. It is best to check with the municipality or the intermunicipal organisation that organises VGF waste collection.

The bags can also be put in the compost bin without any problem, although there they will take a little longer to disappear. Unlike industrial composting, home composting is very dependent on weather conditions (mainly humidity and temperature).

CompostBag bags are not perishable like food. But they are susceptible to ‘ageing’, the gradual deterioration of mechanical strength properties. Therefore, it is recommended to consume the bags within 12 months of the production date printed on the bags.

The bags are best stored at room temperature (20-23°C), moderate relative humidity (50-55%) and away from direct sunlight. An ideal place in under the kitchen sink.

If bags start tearing prematurely, this usually indicates dehydration. Rub such a bag with a damp cloth or fan it through a steam cloud just before use, and the bag will regain its former strength after some time. However, the bag should then be used immediately.

You can find the date in the fold of the bag (see picture). Each bag basically has a production date, this is printed every 35cm on the bags.

The terms “biobased” and “renewable” are often used interchangeably, but they do have distinct meanings.

Biobased materials are derived from renewable biological resources, such as plants, animals, microorganisms, or their byproducts. These materials are carbon-based and find applications in various sectors like biofuels, bioplastics, and biochemicals. However, the term ‘biobased’ solely denotes the origin of the material, without specifying its environmental impact or sustainability.

On the other hand, renewable resources encompass a broader category, including not only biobased materials but also energy sources like solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and geothermal energy. Renewable resources are naturally replenished over time, making them inherently sustainable options for meeting our energy and material needs.

While biobased materials are a subset of renewable resources, it’s essential to recognize that not all renewable resources are biobased. For example, solar and wind energy are renewable but not derived from biological sources.

In summary, while biobased materials originate from renewable biological resources, renewable resources encompass a wider range of naturally replenished materials and energy sources. Both play crucial roles in building a sustainable future, but their environmental impacts and applications may differ.

But what’s the difference between compostable and biodegradable? Here’s the scoop:

Compostable: Turns into nutrient-rich compost in specific composting conditions, contributing to soil health and plant growth.

Biodegradable: Naturally breaks down over time in various environments, including soil and water, thanks to microbial action.

Both options are great for the planet, but compostable bags offer the added benefit of creating valuable compost. Choose the eco-friendly solution that suits your needs and helps make a positive impact on our environment!

As The Compost Bag Company, we want to assure our customers that our Mater-Bi® products are manufactured without the intentional use of latex, gluten, or any substances known to be allergens as outlined in Annex II of European Regulation 1169/2011 and its amendments. However, it’s important to note that our Mater-Bi® grades have not undergone specific testing to verify the unintentional presence of these substances.

Furthermore, we want to emphasize that the starch contained in our Mater-Bi® grades, when applicable, is derived from corn starch. This corn starch is selected specifically for its compatibility with a “gluten-free” dietary regimen, catering to the needs of individuals who are allergic or intolerant to gluten.

It’s essential to understand that while our products are designed with consideration for gluten intolerance, our production plants are not certified as “gluten-free.” This is because our facilities are primarily dedicated to the production of plastics and other chemical products, rather than food items. As a result, they are not subject to “gluten-free” certification processes.

Dog waste poses significant health and environmental risks that many people underestimate. It contains millions of bacteria and parasites, including E. Coli, Salmonella, and various worms, which can lead to illnesses in humans such as gastrointestinal issues and skin infections.

The EPA categorizes pet waste as a nonpoint source pollutant, alongside toxic chemicals and pesticides, highlighting its environmental impact. Dog waste can contaminate water sources, contribute to algae overgrowth, and even pollute the air, as shown by studies linking airborne bacteria to dog feces.

Additionally, it serves as a food source for rodents, potentially exacerbating rodent problems and further health hazards. Proper disposal of dog waste is crucial to mitigate these risks and protect both human health and the environment.
